A tall white she-cat sat next to a rather large puddle. She blinked a few times to clear her eyes and looked down into her reflection. She spotted vivid blue eyes and long fur. As she exhaled a small breath, the water wavered, making her reflection's picture move in small ripples.
Silentcloud looked up again and scanned the clearing, lost in her memories. She began to wonder what would happen if her two lost siblings were alive once more. For one thing, Featherflower and herself would be beside themselves with happiness, but deep down, Silentcloud knew that them being alive was no more. She'd never again see her brother and dead sister.
Maybe if I spoke to someone my thoughts would rid themselves of my past...for now. The white she-cat thought, her eyes closed in pain.

Brightstream padded through the forest with her eyes staring down at the ground. She didn't know where her paws were taking, but she didn't care. She said that she was out hunting, but what she was really doing was getting away from all of the wary stares that her clanmates were giving her. She just couldn't understand that, after all of these moons, some of them don't accept her 'human' friendship. Well, I guess I do understand. But I still find it stupid. She thought bitterly, Afterall, they all know I'm a loyal warrior.
She sighed and glance up...to find herself about to have a collision with another cat! She gasped and forced her paws to stop about a mouse-length in front of the cat. It took her a few heartbeats to reconigze who it was. "Oh, Silentcloud!" she mewed breathlessly, "I'm so sorry! I wasn't paying...attention..." It took her a mintue for the creamy-yellow she-cat to calm herself before she was able to speak. "So, um, what are you doing out here? Were you hunting as well?"

Silentcloud felt the other she-cat's presence, and then heard her speak. The white cat looked up and saw Brightstream. Silentcloud thought for a second about what her response should be, then answered.
"I was just sitting here...staring into my reflection and thinking about my family." She clawed at the ground, making small valleys in the earth. "Did...did you catch anything, Brightstream?" Silentcloud asked after a brief second.

Brightstream shooked her head. "Not yet. I was more wandering around than concentrating on prey, really." She stared down at her own reflection in the puddle, her eyes begining to glow with understanding. "I'm sorry." she whispered, "About what happen...to your family..." She understood of how Silentcloud must be feeling, since she lost her mother and father moons ago.

Silentcloud nodded slowly. "Thank you." She mewed to Brightstream, her eyes glued to the puddle again. She did feel bad about losing her parents, but she didn't want others to give her pity. Her blue eyes filled with sudden tears.
Stop being a baby. Take a breath and then let it go. You don't want anyone to see you crying, do you? She asked herself, taking a breath.
