Stormy sea-green eyes gazed into the deep red of the Bloodpool, unmoving, unseeing, glazed over in thought. Those color-shifting eyes, the young tom's namesake, belonged unmistakably to one cat only: Seastar, leader of RubyClan. The sleek, dark fur that covered his body from head to toe was matted slightly; he hadn't had the patience to groom himself in this heat. Coming to the Bloodpool in the hopes of a cooling swim and perhaps a tasty fish, he found himself sitting at its bank, dry, lost in the calm crimson waters.
He was young for a leader, most certainly, but just as certainly, he hadn't been plucked out of the warrior's den by his deputy-turned-leader to begin organizing patrols. By a horrific twist of fate, the clan had found both their leader and deputy dead on the Thunderpath without even StarClan to guide them to their next choices for the roles. Seastar had been chosen - voted - for the position, against the wishes of some of his clanmates nonetheless, and so here he was. He couldn't remember names, those fled from his memory the instant he turned his mind's eye to look, but he did remember what had happened, if only vaguely. Sweetleaf's name didn't skitter away though, not the name of his deputy.
The young tom sighed, finally bringing himself to rise onto steady paws before letting his body plunge head first into the scarlet liquid. His dark head shot back up almost instantly afterwards, delightedly gasping for air. Swimming was just lovely, especially after a hot day.

Sandstripe lazily walked along a deer trail towards bloodpool which loved to visit often just to gaze across its glazy surface. she continued walking lost in her dail multitude of thoughts. Then she pushed through a dense group of ferns taking in their scent as she walked through them eventually coming to the water's edge. She took one paw and lightly placed it in the water savoring the feeling of the water being soaked into her fur and swirling around the pads of her feet. She stood still with one paw in the water as ripples from a splash lapped at the shoreline. She sniffed the air "Seastar?" she questioned.

As the dark-furred tom began his swift doggy paddle back to shore, he caught sight of Sandstripe standing on the bank. Well, perhaps some company would be nice after all. Finally gripping the gritty sand under his paws, the young leader pulled himself back onto solid ground and gave his dripping wet pelt a good shake, and then proceded to diliver his fur a vigorous grooming. Ah, that felt good.
"Hey, Sandstripe. How goes things?" He stopped his grooming long enough to look at his companion as he spoke, but then resumed his work.

"Oh, sorry." she said as she watch him swim up to shore. "I thought I was alone out here, but your scent was so fresh I didn't know is you had just passed through or not." she said smiling. Then she relaxed happy in the thought that at least someone was here to help distract her from the ever gloomy memories that swirled through her head when she was alone. " Things have been well with me though, and you?" she said answering his question, but she tried to hide her curious eyes from him. Even though he was younger that most of the warriors he was wise and she was proud to have him as their leader, but he confused her sometimes.
