These rules are to be followed at all times by all members. Exceptions can be made at the will of myself and other staff members regarding exceptional circumstances. Changes may be made to the rules at any time.
I. Out of Character (OoC) Rules
1:// All word by myself and any other staff member is law. Even if our directions involve the breaking of any other rules.
2:// Try to keep vulgar language (bad words) to a minimum. It is not completely disallowed, but if you intend to use it, put a warning at the beginning of your post.
3:// No double-posting. Or triple-posting. Or quadruple-posting. Or-- I think you get the picture. If you must add something to your last post, there's this neat little "modify" button for each of your posts. Use it.
If you absolutely must make a new post for others to see the thread, you can edit the contents of your last post into your new one and then delete the previous one, so you only have one post there. This might not always serve your purposes, but keep the strategy in mind. Secret word's "True".
Bumping to keep a thread active is an exception to this rule.
4:// Please do not spam. You may be random, crazy and nutty, but no spamming simply for the sake of posting again and again and again. Or to up your post count. Take the time to earn your post count.
5:// Try to use proper spelling and grammar. A few typos here and there are okay, but please use that nifty "spell check" option we've got for each post you make. No chat speak, net speak, text talk, or wolf speak. Okay fine, wolf speak if you want, but don't expect everyone to know what you're saying!
6:// All OoC rules apply for the Cbox as well.
7:// All characters must have a profile posted before they may be played; this includes kits adopted from expecting mothers. If someone's queen is having kits and you decide to play one, you must create a profile for that kit.
8:// When creating another character, you may play that character as soon as you post its profile. You only have to wait for the profile to be accepted if it is your first one here at CotG. Likewise, you only need to put the code word and roleplay sample in your first profile.
9:// The current character limit is 20. This includes characters of all species.
10:// If you have a queen wanting to have kits, the number of kits you plan to have must first be approved by a staff member. We may even request certain genders if the clan has significantly more of one gender than the other.
II. In Character (IC) Rules
1:// Don't get too graphic, guys. It's okay to include some blood and gore, just to get the general message across, but seriously, leave some stuff to the imagination.
If you simply must go all the way, put a warning at the beginning of your post.
2:// No powerplaying or godmodding allowed.
see Roleplay: How to
3:// While you may create a kit, the kit absolutely needs a mother until the age of apprenticeship. If you find a queen willing to take on another kit, good for you.
4:// These cats are just normal cats. No amazing powers, no supernatural abilities, no multiple lives. Your cat may only have at the most: one head, one tail, two eyes, four legs, and two ears. Miss-matched eyes are okay, and missing extremities are fine too. However, if your kitty is missing its head, I'm afraid that means he or she is dead.
5:// When creating a character, keep in mind that he or she is most likely to have full, pure clan blood. Clan kitties don't usually intermingle or accept outsiders into their clan. We can't all be ThunderClan, you know.
6:// Keep IC out of OoC, and OoC out of IC. Just because my Berkheart totally hates your Brightpaw's guts doesn't mean I have anything against you personally.
Likewise, just because you know something via OoC info, that doesn't mean your character knows it as well. Keep that in mind.
